Tudor Watch

TUDOR SUB, launched in 2020, was created out of a passion for vintage Tudor’s and a desire to promote the communal knowledge amongst collectors. The goal is to establish a resource for enthusiasts and for anyone interested in learning a bit more about collecting vintage Tudor. Tudor has a rich and fascinating history, and has recently had a chance to shine on its own. This is partly due to the fact that many modern examples have taken direct inspiration from their most popular watches throughout history, all at a very reasonable price point. This site is set out to celebrate that history, starting with the first Tudor Submariner, the ref. 7922, all the way to the last acrylic reference, the 79090.

As a good friend once said, “Tudors were no BS tool watches.” They were fitted on the wrists of military personnel, professional divers, and anyone who simply needed a tough watch to do the job. These tools were put through harsh conditions by those who wore them. They were used as they were meant to be and were not often serviced or taken care of like their Rolex counterpart.

Due to much smaller production numbers, today you will find that fewer examples exist in good condition. This has made the hunt more challenging, requiring much patience and countless hours of research. It involves weaving through many irregularities and inconsistencies within the references. This is the foremost reason why I collect Tudor and find such a fascination with the brand. It’s also why I chose to create a resource for fellow Tudor enthusiasts. While I do not have all the answers, this resource sets out to provide a level of clarity and insight into the references that exist. It is my hope to inspire collectors of all levels to share their experience and knowledge of Tudor.
